The Emotion Cards invite children to recognise, explore and name the feelings they experience throughout their day.
Rather than avoiding or dismissing emotions, these cards gently support children to understand that all feelings are important and can be talked about. By identifying and naming emotions such as happiness, frustration, worry, excitement or calm, children begin to build emotional awareness and develop the language needed to express how they feel.
The cards can be used during conversations, reflection moments, play sessions, or group discussions. They offer simple visual prompts that help children notice their feelings, share their experiences and learn that emotions can be understood and supported.
Grounded in emotional literacy and the Equichild Framework, the Emotion Cards support educators, therapists and facilitators to nurture children’s developing emotional awareness in a way that feels safe, respectful and empowering.
