Ethical & Practice Foundations

The Little Hooves Facilitator Training is grounded in the values of the Equichild Framework and reflects a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and non-pathologising approach.

At the heart of this training is the belief that:

  • every child is capable, whole, and developing in their own time

  • behaviour is communication, not something to be corrected

  • connection and safety are the foundation for all learning

Facilitators are guided to:

  • respond with curiosity rather than judgement

  • prioritise emotional safety for both children and ponies

  • honour each child’s individual way of engaging and expressing themselves

This approach supports the development of environments where children feel seen, safe, and supported to be themselves.

Ongoing Access & Resources

Participants will receive continued access to the training materials, allowing them to revisit modules, deepen understanding, and support implementation over time.

Included resources may include:

  • session structure guides

  • pathway overview documents

  • downloadable templates

  • reflection prompts

This ongoing access supports facilitators to integrate the learning at their own pace and return to the content as their confidence and experience grows.
